CANCELLED: Mordecai Fall Clean Up - Weather Permitting

The Mordecai Island clean-up, scheduled for Saturday, September 14, has been cancelled. This is good news! After two trips thoroughly searching the island for debris Labor Day week, several board member volunteers were surprised to report that the island is almost entirely clean. We decided to let the island remain a "view from afar" this season, while continuing to monitor the island. We will schedule a clean-up on the calendar for next year.

In the meantime, as for viewing from afar, the marsh is beautiful this time of year. The greens of the grasses are turning golden, and the bay water reflects a lovely sheen across the island, and of course, there are always those spectacular sunsets.
